Infrastructure: Public bidding for concession and PPP projects scheduled for the coming months in Brazil

Several calls for concession and public-private partnership (PPP) projects have recently been published, presenting opportunities for private partners. Airports – State of Rio Grande do Sul

  • Date of public bidding session: August 1, 2024.
  • Project: Sponsored concession for the operation, maintenance, and expansion of the airports of Passo Fundo and Santo Ângelo in the State of Rio Grande do Sul (RS).
  • International Bidding Notice No.: 0011/2024.
  • Granting Authority: State of Rio Grande do Sul (RS).
  • Estimated contract value: BRL 670,603,231.67, corresponding to the total projected revenue.
  • Contract term: 30 years.

Health – Municipality of Palmas

  • Date of public bidding session: August 13, 2024.
  • Project: Administrative concession for the construction, management, operation and maintenance of the new Women’s Hospital and Dona Regina Maternity Hospital in the city of Palmas.
  • Tocantins Bidding Notice No.: 001/2024.
  • Granting Authority: State of Tocantins (TO).
  • Estimated contract value: BRL 2,650 billion, as outlined in section 7.1 of the notice.
  • Contract term: 30 years.

Basic Sanitation – State of Piauí

  • Date of public bidding session: August 14, 2024.
  • Project: Concession for the management of operation, maintenance, and exploitation services of water supply and sanitation systems in the Municipalities of the Microregion of Water and Sewage of Piauí (MRAE).

Solid Waste – South of Bahia

  • Date of public bidding session: August 15, 2024.
  • Project: Sponsored concession for the provision of collection, transportation, transshipment, treatment and final disposal services of urban solid waste from the municipalities comprising the Intermunicipal Consortium of the Mosaic of Apas of the Lower South of Bahia (CIAPRA).
  • Bidding Notice No.: 024/2024.
  • Granting Authority: CIAPRA.
  • Estimated contract value: BRL1,141,110,307.00.
  • Contract term: 30 years.

Port – Recife, State of Pernambuco – Terminal REC08

  • Date of public bidding session: August 21, 2024.
  • Project: Port leasing at a terminal dedicated to handling and storage of bulk vegetable solids, especially malt, wheat and corn, at the Organized Port of Recife/PE, known as REC08.
  • Bidding Notice No. 02/2024 from the National Waterway Transportation Agency (ANTAQ).
  • Granting Authority: Federal Government.
  • Fixed lease value: The Lessee must pay the Port Administration a fixed lease amount of BRL 29,196.85 per month.
  • Lease term: 10 years.

Port – Recife, State of Pernambuco – Terminal REC09

    • Date of public bidding session: August 21, 2024.
    • Project: Port leasing, in a terminal dedicated to handling and storage of bulk solid and general cargo, especially rice, at the Organized Port of Recife/PE, named REC09.

    • Granting Authority: Federal Government.
    • Fixed lease value: The Lessee shall pay the Port Administration the amount of BRL 60,368.05  per month, as fixed lease value.

    Port – Recife, State of Pernambuco – Terminal REC10

      • Date of public bidding session: August 21, 2024.
      • Project: Port leasing, in a terminal dedicated to handling and storage of bulk solid and general cargo at the Organized Port of Recife/PE, named REC10.
      • Bidding Notice No. 04/2024 from the National Agency for Waterway Transportation (ANTAQ).
      • Granting Authority: Federal Government.
      • Fixed lease value: The Lessee shall pay the Port Administration the amount of BRL 34,711.87  per month, as fixed lease value.

      Port – Rio Grande, State of Rio Grande do Sul – Terminal RIG10

      • Date of public bidding session: August 21, 2024.
      • Project: Port leasing, in a terminal dedicated to handling and storage of general cargo, named RIG10, located at the Organized Port of Rio Grande/RS.

      • Fixed lease value: The Lessee shall pay the Port Administration the amount of BRL 57,655.50  per month, as fixed lease value.

      Port – Rio de Janeiro, State of Rio de Janeiro – Terminal RDJ06

      • Date of public bidding session: August 21, 2024.
      • Project: Port leasing, in a terminal dedicated to handling and storage of liquid bulk, especially basic oils, excluding flammable products, located at the Organized Port of Rio de Janeiro/RJ, named RDJ06.
      • Bidding Notice No. 06/2024 from the National Agency for Waterway Transportation (ANTAQ).
      • Granting Authority: Federal Government.
      • Fixed lease value: The Lessee shall pay the Port Administration the amount of BRL 499,957.20 per month, as fixed lease value.

      Road – BR 381 – Stretch in the State of Minas Gerais

      • Date of public bidding session: August 29, 2024.
      • Project: Concession of the BR-381/MG highway system, section between Belo Horizonte, at the junction with BR-262 (to Sabará), and the junction with BR-116/MG in Governador Valadares, with a total length of 304 km.
      • Concession Notice No. 1/2024.
      • Granting Authority: Federal Government, through the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT).
      • Criterion for judging the best economic proposal: lowest toll rate.
      • Contract term: 30 years.

      Basic Sanitation – State of Sergipe

      • Project: Concession for the regionalized provision of public water supply and sanitation services in the water and sewage microregion of Sergipe (MAES).

      • Project: Concession for the exploitation of the infrastructure and provision of the public service for recovery, operation, maintenance, monitoring, conservation, implementation of improvements, capacity expansion and maintenance of service levels of the BR-040/GO/MG Road System.
